Explore the new universe of careers in Photography. Learn how your interests and talents can be developed into a career that’s just right for you. Our four-year Photography degree gives students the opportunity to develop skills necessary to enter the marketplace and the theoretical and historical understanding necessary for long-term success. Our goal is to help you discover the best version of your future self.

One of the longest running, most comprehensive, and largest photography programs in the region, MTSU’s Photography program covers commercial, artistic, and journalistic photography. Innovation constantly pushes the boundaries of the possible, and this means ever-expanding opportunities for Photography graduates. Career paths include creative, technical, and management.

Photography students benefit from our outstanding faculty, up-to-date curriculum, hands-on learning, and amazing facilities that include two photo studios, digital photo labs, traditional darkrooms, alternative process facilities, and a student photo gallery. The program also includes The Baldwin Photographic Gallery as the premiere photo gallery in the region with exhibitions of work by some of the world’s finest photographers, and the Baldwin Photographic Collection and Archive which house a priceless collection of masterpieces of photography.

Our student learning experiences go well beyond traditional classrooms. We have classes abroad, in Los Angeles, all around the region, and even at the Bonnaroo music festival. Extracurricular opportunities exist with the MTSU Photo Society and several other student media organizations.

Find yourself in Photography. After all, the greatest discovery you can make is your own future.
