MTSU grad student Corinne Wolowicz is working on 3D projection mapping at DWP Live

Former Media Arts graduate student Corinne Wolowicz is working with DWP live to create 3D projection mapping. Wolowicz will be using the skills she learned from Middle Tennessee State University to help the company DWP Live. DWP Live is a visual production company, that produces incredible entertainment through projection mapping, live events, laser scanning, and event space. Wolowicz is working with them, using 3D projection mapping to capture the imagination of the audience. 3D projection mapping is a form of video projection onto irregular surfaces instead of flat screens. Images are projected onto any 3D object while correcting for distortions due to parallax. To the viewer’s eye, this seems to make the projection look like it is an image on the surface rather than a projection. 3D projection mapping also allows for the precise alignment of images from multiple projectors.

Wolowicz has worked with the DWP Live team using 3D projection mapping on events like the reopening of the Freer Sackler Museum. She was the Media Server Operator for the show.

The team produced for the opening ceremonies for the 2016 League of Legends world final, using 60 projectors to pull everything off.

Wolowicz was the engineer the projections for the amazing rock band Foo Fighters.

Wolowicz journey after graduation has given her many exciting opportunities and this exciting medium hold promise of the future.
